So what if you came up with a good invention. Now what?

Some people come up with an idea (invention) and they actually make their own home made "prototype." The prototype is the word we use for the actual invention you came up with. For example if you invented a new widget of sorts; the prototype is the home made widget you ended up making yourself in your garage or basement or wherever.   It is possible that you have your widget sitting at home but the problem is that now you don't know what to do with it. Your prototype might be sitting in your basement for a long time, but you just don't know the next step.
I wonder how many people are out there with great ideas that are just collecting dust.
If this has happened to you, try not to get stuck in the invention process. Your idea could very well be a good one, even a great one. You've probably even put in a lot of money into your invention. You've proved it even works! Don't take too long in getting it going because it could become too late.
Now, before you continue, you want to ask yourself these questions: Is there a demand for your particular product? Is there anything out there like it? What is your target market? How large is it?
Your answers to these questions will help you determine whether or not your product might be worth pursuing onward.  If you feel confident about it and truly believe in its potential for success, your next step is to file for a provisional patent.  A provisional patent will allow you have a “patent pending” status with your invention, which will then enable you to begin searching for a way to sell or license it.
Whether you want to license your invention or build a business around it to start selling units, (units are what your product become once it starts selling) then intellectual property protection will be necessary.
Stay motivated throughout the process because you could become discouraged during the process because it could take awhile until you get everything that needs to be done.
I personally suggest that you make sure people WANT your product.
Once you’ve got IP protection, it’s now time to get that prototype out there to start making some money.  Start contacting manufacturers that could potentially work with you. Once you get that started you'll be happy to see it will be a win win situation. Happy manufacturer, happy you!
Once you’ve got your manufacturing and IP protection, take your prototype and find potential buyers, licensors, wholesalers, retailers, traders, etc. to start getting your product onto store shelves! I wish you the very best!

Boy! What a rough winter we've had!

I'm telling you this winter has been brutal here in the Midwest and as far as I know in a bunch of other places too. But what are we to do? Just bundle up I guess.

I realized last night, after watching an old video on UTube of the earthquake that happened in Mexico in 1985, that I'd rather have brutal cold winter weather than be in a massive earthquake. Good Lord!

There is a huge, long icicle hanging from the outside of my bathroom window and you know what? Especially when the sun seems to be shining right on it. I think it is so beautiful. I even took a picture of it.  I still can't wait to move from the Midwest to a warmer climate though!

Well, we have to make the best of what we are given and I'm doing just that.

Psalm 147:17 says, (talking about God and His ways): "He casteth forth His ice like morsels; who can stand before His cold?" (Not me that's for sure).  Stay warm my friends.
