Keep an Invention Journal

Make sure you keep an invention journal. This could actually become a legal document if someone claims to have invented something before you did. Make sure it is all written in ink pen. Date and time what you are going to document about your invention. Your inventors journal is your first document of what your invention is and of when you first came up with it. Make sure to document in writing the progress of your invention. Possibly even ilustrate what your invention is in your inventors journal. Keep it in a safe place. Do not write in your computer about your invention. It is better to just document in your journal. Don't white out or erase anything. It doesn't even matter if it looks slopy. Periodically allow a close friend to read, check and sign it and having signed a non disclosure form. Now it is possible that you will never even have to show it as proof, but you never know.
